Himalayan Salt Lamps As A Natural Health Alternative

Deep in the Himalayan Mountains the purest salt on the planet can be found. Formed millions of years ago, today it is used by talented craftsmen to hand carve unique salt crystal lamps and candleholders. For Himalayan salt lamps are an excellent natural health alternative.

Not only is a salt lamp a powerful tool it's divinely beautiful. Those beautiful shades of oranges and yellows can't help but relax and calm you. There is no question about it, they are enchanting! But the power of these salt lamps goes much deeper than their surface beauty. These lamps are capable of creating negative ions which are needed by all humans.

Many millions of years ago when the Himalayan Mountains were formed the Himalayan mineral salt crystals also came to be. The Himalayans are one of the most serene and undeveloped areas in the world thus the crystals mined in the foothills are pure and far away from pollutants.

The crystals don't come out of the mines translucent. It takes a tremendous amount of heat and pressure to refine the structure to its translucent state. If you compare the lamps of European salt mines with those of the Himalayans you'll discover they are much duller and more opaque.

Mining in the Himalayas is all done by hand which is very expensive and time consuming. Dynamite or any other explosives are prohibited to ensure the natural formation of the crystals is not destroyed. Only the best crystals are used and they are hand picked by experts.

Besides the negative ions that are good for all of us salt lamps are also known to be very beneficial to those suffering from asthma. But this isn't a new concept at all.

For throughout the European countries you will find Speleotherapy Sanatoriums a natural alternative for respiratory conditions. These sanatoriums are found in old used salt crystal rock mines because they have such a high concentration of ionized air. People from around the world visit these sanatoriums finding relief from their asthma and other respiratory problems with no side effects.

People who visit the Sanatoriums do not go to the surface for up to 30 days. They stay up to 1500 feet below the surface and are provided with food, sleeping and living accommodations, and exercise. When they return home they return with one or more salt lamps to continue their therapy. It's a remarkable process and what's really impressive is the results that have been seen.

Perhaps you aren't in a position to sign up for a Speleotherapy Sanatorium session but you can achieve the same benefits right in your home by using Himalayan salt lamps throughout your house. These negative ions are healing and will assist your body in healing.

They have many other health benefits too! So where should you use your salt crystal lamps? Well there are plenty of reasons and places.

1. If you want the air quality improved.
2. If you want to create a relaxing, cozy atmosphere. An environment of wellness.
3. If you want to enjoy the beauty of nature.
4. If you suffer from allergies.
5. If you suffer from asthma.
6. If you suffer from sinus problems.
7. If you work in an office under artificial lighting, in air conditioning, or on a computer. It will counter EMP and monitor radiation reducing fatigue.
8. If you have a massage room it will enhance the calming ability.
9. If you are recovering from an illness.
10. In your child's room beside their bed as a nightlight and to promote peaceful sleep.
11. Strategically throughout your home to promote energy.
12. For meditation.
13. If you smoke to help eliminate the smell faster.
14. If you have electronic appliances in your home.

Of course there are man made negative ion machines you can buy but why would you want to? They are expensive and they aren't pretty.
