Homemade Acne Treatment - Focusing on Your Blemishes

Though there are a lot of good acne medications that are sold over the counter at stores, you may want to consider the alternative of a homemade acne treatment. When you have more control over how you treat your skin and your blemishes, you can design the kind of treatment that works best for you specifically. Even if it takes a while for you to get it just right, in the end you and your skin are going to benefit. You may even be able to claim that your acne is a thing of the past after you've found the right homemade acne treatment. As anybody who suffers or has suffered from acne can tell you, that is one of the most wonderful things to be able to say.

Of course, when you start out to concoct a homemade acne treatment, you probably won't immediately find everything that you need right there in your home. An initial trip to one or two stores will probably be necessary. One of the things that you can do is do a little research before you go out shopping. This could save you some time and possibly some money as well. Assess your acne problem first and decide exactly what it is that you need to treat and how serious the problem is. Even if you only have occasional acne, you would probably still want to find a way to prevent the outbreaks. Acne is unpleasant no matter how often it happens, and a homemade acne treatment can benefit any acne sufferer.

Two things that you may want to invest in for a homemade acne treatment are rubbing alcohol and tea tree oil. Alcohol, as most people know, is a disinfectant. It will kill viruses and bacteria on contact, and it is the bacteria that you want to keep in check since that is a big part of an acne problem. Applying alcohol directly to blemishes, especially when you first see them forming, can help stop them in their tracks. Applying it to the areas where you are most likely to break out is a good preventative measure too. Keep in mind that alcohol is very drying, though, and use it sparingly on your skin. Tea tree oil is a natural substance that is known to prevent and get rid of acne, and you can use it as an ingredient in your homemade acne remedy.

Don't forget about the facial mask when you are creating your homemade acne treatment. Natural substances such as pure oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, and certain fruits are wonderful for the skin, and there are several ways in which you can formulate masks using these ingredients. Do some research and then experiment with these natural ingredients by making masks with them. You are sure to find one that really seems to work for you, and you will feel good knowing that you have made it yourself.
