The compressor is simply a type of machine that compresses the air by increasing pressure and decreasing volume. It uses an electric motor to run a pump that compresses the air. The air is created by the use of a piston and the air flowing through a directional valve where is either stored in a tank or immediately used to power an air tool. An on/off switch controls whether the compressor is running or not. When it is on it automatically produces air. If the tank is low it will continue to produce but it will also stop producing air when the tank is full. This is the job of the regulator. Simply follow your manuals instructions for maintenance and storage. Most compressors require only minimal maintenance.12. Store in a dry place and make sure it is unplugged from the wall. That's it.
