How The Golf Cart Started
|
The Sun Classic, or the original "Neighborhood Vehicle", was a design unheard of at the time. With deluxe bucket seats, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, tempered glass windshield, lockable glove box, and a large front storage compartment. In 1990, the G-5 Sun Classic replaced the previously pioneering G-3, and included lightweight but strong body panels, a rack and pinion steering system, rearview mirror, and integrated air vents for passenger comfort and convenience. Afterwards, revision and reinterpretation created the Fleet Classic, the first golf cart that utilized a semi-independent rear suspension and to include coil over shocks. The value conscious Fleet Master came soon afterwards in 1991, and was based upon the G-2 model. In 1993, the Yamahauler came onto the scene as Yamaha's first utility vehicle, and incorporated a durable steel front bumper, an all-aluminum bed and folding tailgate with a trailer hitch attached. Shock absorption is quite important in the golf carts operation that you are considering purchasing. To be honest, it takes heavy-duty shock absorbers, one with a variety of tested and approved qualities, to impact what a more interesting and exciting ride through whatever territories your mind can imagine could be. The next models were the first to improve upon the engines' capacity for power, and with improvements to the chassis as well as interchangeable accessories available. The first Ultima model in 1995, the G-14, had a new larger engine making it the "ultimate golf car". Both then new Yamahauler and the new Ultima models came out at the same time in 1996, and likewise the two had some differing qualities from their predecessors have made them far better. The G-11 model, Yamahauler, consisted of a larger 301 cc motor and an impact-resistant front bumper. The G-16, Ultima model, had a similar engine upgrade and revamped primary clutch. In 1997, the G-19, Ultima model featured roll-away safety protection and regenerative braking. Through the turn of this century onwards to today, the Yamaha golf carts have led the way in the pursuit of a more functional vehicle to adapt to the truly utilitarian purposes demanding of a quality cart. That is not the end of the array of accessories that can be used to apply as many intentions and added benefits as can be imagined. All parts customizable to the tastes of their owners.
