Even if you are still in high school, you can start studying to become a pharmacist, by opting for one of the 0-6 year programs that can prepare you for this career. With satisfactory GPA and SAT scores, you will have no problem applying for these programs, but you may be required to go to an interview in some schools. This is how the programs work: the first two years are dedicated to pre-requisite coursework; it is necessary to earn some high marks, in order to go to the next step. The following years represent an actual pharmacy school, where you will take courses specific to this area of expertise. After the six years of studying, you have the possibility to follow one year of residency, but you can just go ahead and find a job as a pharmacist.
