Nobody likes pimples, it is a fact. But squeezing them all day long is not a solution unless you want to make them even worse, which is not the case. Do not despair, there are many tips and tricks that you may follow to get rid of the annoying, nasty looking pimples. - The first rule of thumb is to avoid any hard action on the pimple. Your hands will only manage to spread the infection in other parts of your face and, by hurting the skin, you will remain with ugly marks on your face. So, you will probably get rid of a pimple, but you will gain instead a scar, which is not such a good deal, isn’t it? - A good method to make the inflamed skin back up is to keep an ice pack on the affected area. Put it on the pimple and hold it for about two minutes, then repeat the procedure after half an hour. You will feel how the pain is eased along with the redness and the inflammation. - Make use of cosmetics. Use a concealer to hide the pimple if you do not have time for more elaborate action. Choose a color that is close to your skin color and apply it uniformly. It will work better than you think and it will also mask the oily look of the area. - If you have constant problems with pimples, act against them by using a good cleanser. Wash your face gently, than dry it up with an exfoliating washcloth. Be careful to not damage your skin and leave it without its natural oils and hydration. - Some good products meant to help you get rid of pimples are those made of benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Creams containing such substances are usually used for greasy skin as they tend to dry the skin and they are not recommended if you have a dry sensitive skin. - Avoid cosmetics based on oil. Instead look for those that are oil free to prevent the skin from becoming too greasy and favoring the appearance of blemishes and pimples. Do not forget to use a makeup remover and an acne cleanser after that that will help the skin breath. - There are also solutions that can be used on the spot when you do not have much at your hand. For instance, you can use a little toothpaste on the pimple to decrease the inflammation and the redness. Also, you can use a wet tea bag or a patch with lemon juice by keeping it on the pimple for several minutes for obtaining the same effect mentioned earlier. There are also other ways to fight against acne, but these tips and tricks may offer you a short term and effective solution. For eradicating the problem altogether, it is best to talk to a specialist for a treatment that suits your skin type. You may also try masks or you can opt for a healthy diet or drinking enough water to help improve the state of your skin from the inside.
