How To Install A Dishwasher
|
Follow that by turning off the water valve usually found under the sink. If you do not have a shut off under the sink you will need to shut the main outside valve off and then drain what's in the lines by turning on the taps. There should already be a dedicated shut off for the dishwasher and if there is not now is the perfect time to install one. Drill a hole at the back of the lower corner of the cabinet for the drain hose, power cord, and water supply tube to be fed through. Once you have your dishwasher installed you need to adjust the front feet to level out your dishwasher and align it with the cabinets. Once you have it leveled you need to anchor it to the counter with screws. Then you can turn the water pressure back on and check for leaks. When you are certain that there are no leaks you can install the front panel. Now it's time to plug it in or have your electrician hardwire it in. In a nutshell here is each step of your install: 1. Start by shutting off your main water off.2. Next you need to install a shut off valve.3. Disconnect the sink water supply.4. Now drain the line into a bucket.5. You will need to unscrew the shut off valve from supply nipple.6. Wrap Teflon tape around the nipple threads.7. Then screw a dual valve on.8. Now you need to install the air gap.9. Use your slip joint pliers to secure it.10. Put the cover on tight.11. Put the dishwasher relatively close to where it will be positioned so that you can work with what needs to be hooked up.12. Push the supply tube, power cord, and hoses through the holes you have previously drilled in the back corner of the sink cabinet.13. Once you've got them in place you can push the dishwasher into place by gently walking it making sure not to catch any of your lines.14. Connect the flexible supply tube to the valve.15. Tighten with your wrench until it is snug.16. Put a hose clamp on each end of the short hose and tighten.17. Put a hose clamp on each end of the longer hose and tighten.18. Hook up your power supply whether you are using a plug or having it hard wired by your electrician. Your dishwasher needs to be on its own breaker.19. Secure all hose connections with Teflon tape.20. Test for leaks and make any needed adjustments. That's all there is too it. Half a day and you'll have your new dishwasher ready to take care of all your dishwasher needs. It will probably take you longer to decide on the right dishwasher than it will to install it. After all these simple how to install a dishwasher instructions will have you speeding through your task.
