Foods that contain fat, alcohol, coffee, chocolate and cigarettes are often responsible for acid reflux. There are people that are more affected by acid reflux than others, and these are those suffering obesity. Also, when a person has the habit of eating too much, the stomach gets full with food, and, instead that the food travels into the intestines, it goes back.Acid reflux is a condition that can affect the way you live. It can be quite annoying, but it is more than that. If left untreated, it can go on for months or more, and it can lead to ulcer. You will notice that it will be harder for you to eat and drink and you will experience difficulties when doing that. There are medical treatments for acid reflux. The most well known drug that is used for such situations is the histamine. This drug is meant to reduce the production of acid in your stomach. Some prokinetic agents can be used to prevent the stomach from overfilling. But, if you ask your physician, they will prescribe you some mild anti acids.
