How To Write A Song - A Few Tips

If you are music fan, you certainly felt that it would have been nice if you had been the writer of a certain song that inspired people or made them feel good. Well, it is not that hard to write a song that you can be proud of.

Some people may find this quite easy and there are certain individuals that can make up songs in their sleep.

But, let's get straight to what a song means. Whether is a rock song, a country song or a pop song, a successful hit has a catchy tune and great lyrics.

Here is how it is working. First, you must know the rules that every songwriter follows.

The first rule is about structure. Most of the songs have the following structure: verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus.

From this structure you must go on and make a song.

Start with the first verse. This is an introduction of the story you tell in the song and, like in a story, leads the audience inside the happenings that are about to be revealed.

Then comes the chorus. If one verse is different from another, the chorus is always the same, even if it is repeated several times during the song. The chorus is most like a conclusion to what the verse talked about before.

The chorus is also an important part of your song. As mentioned before, songwriting is like telling a story. Raise the audience's interest with your verse then repay them for their attention with the emotions expressed in the chorus.

We also must talk about the bridge. This is different from the verse and the chorus. Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, this is an alternation, but the spicing up in the song is given by the bridge, because it provides a diversion.

It is not all about the lyrics. Many times, the bridge gets to have a different rhythm or a different tempo. You heard it in a lot of beautiful songs.

We told that the verse attracts the attention and the chorus expresses the emotions experienced. The bridge is like a resolution of the problem. That is why is so different from the rest of the song.

As a general rule, try to write verses and chorus in four lines, because they are easier to understand. Anyhow, this is just a small guide for writing a song, but if you have some talent and you work a little, something good may happen. Also, try to keep your notes down so everybody can sing your lines. It can bring you a lot of success.
