How to Determine if You Are Pregnant

The following are signs that you may be pregnant. Keep in mind that you may be feeling these symptoms and may not be pregnant or you may not have any of these symptoms and you may be pregnant. If you suspect that you are pregnant, you should treat your body as if you are until you take a pregnancy test.

Amenorrhea- Amenorrhea is when you stop having your period. This occurs immediately after conception and will continue for the duration of your pregnancy. Breastfeeding will cause you to continue missing your period for a couple of months.

Morning Sickness- This involves nausea at any time during the day. You may have morning sickness one week after conception and can last for as long as the first trimester. Only a couple women have morning sickness in the third trimester. Eating crackers or small frequent meals may help you feel better.

Frequent Urination- Frequent urination is a symptom that the majority of women experience during the early stages of pregnancy. When your uterus grows, it will begin to put pressure on your bladder, giving you the urge to urinate more frequently. Frequent urination can start the first week after conceiving and can last the duration of your pregnancy.

Food Cravings- Now that you are pregnant you're going to need more nutrients because your body is using so many to create the baby. Consequently, you may crave certain foods.

Changes in Breasts- You may begin to notice that your breasts are swollen and tender. The circle around your nipple will darken and you will start noticing pink and blue lines under your skin. The hormone hCG is the reason for these changes. HCG begins production the moment you have conceived. Changes in the breast may start a couple days following conception and might last throughout the whole pregnancy.

Fatigue- Because all your energy is being used to build your baby, you may often feel fatigued. You will also notice that you have a higher temperature due to the increased levels of progesterone. This also adds to your fatigued.

Bleeding- Light bleeding can sometimes happen when the fertilized egg implants into your uterus.
