How to Get Pregnant - part 1

How to Get Pregnant - part 1

Getting pregnant, did you ever think you would need such a course? Probably not, but while getting pregnant seems to come unusually easy for some women, for others it is more difficult. If you fall into that group, then this lesson may be very useful in figuring out how to conceive.

No matter what what your mother may have told you, getting pregnant isn't all that easy. It requires a series of events that must be timed perfectly or conception will not occur. To begin with, hormones in a woman's body facilitate the release of an egg every month. This release is called ovulation. In general, ovulation occurs around the 14th day of a woman's monthly cycle. I say in general because the exact time will differ from woman to woman and may even change from month to month for the same woman depending on other variables.

When the egg is release it glides through to the fallopian tube. The egg has 24 hours within which it must be fertilized by sperm or conception will not occur. Seed can live in a woman's reproductive tract up to four days. It is best to have as much sex as possible in the nights leading up to ovulation to get as many sperm inside the reproductive tract to increase the probability of conception.
If the egg is fortunate enough to meet with the sperm and fertilization has occurred, then it will find its way to the uterus. It can take upto several days for this journey to occur. When the egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus, a woman has conceived pregnancy. This is whenIt is at this point that a woman's period stops
.
As you can see, the thing to getting pregnant is finding out when a woman is ovulating. There are several ways that ovulation can be determined. There are several ovulation tests on the market that you can use. Women's hormone levels climb prior to ovulation so the tests are determining this climb. Ovulation predictor kits can be purchased over the counter, but they are pricey. A woman will need to purchase several kits in order to determine ovulation.
A woman can detremine ovulation by charting her monthly cycle on paper. She should begin by writing down the first date of her period and register the number of days each period lasts. Not all women have consistent 28 day cycles, but if you do, then ovulation usually occurs on the 14th day of the cycle. This tells you sexual intercourse should start on day 12, 13 and 14 to have the best rate of succes at achieving pregnancy. In fact, most doctors recommend having as much sex as possible and not just during the fertile periods. The reason is that when a couple delays until the two days that conception is likely to occur to have sex, it puts a lot of strain and stress on yoy. High stress levels can negatively affect chances of conception, so to avoid that, have sexual intercourse on a steadily basis and then at least once a day on times when the woman will be most fertile.
