Do your best to get yourself recognized out there in the world of music. Many of the top artists will tell you a key ingredient is being original. If you are out there singing everyone else's songs it won't be the same. You need to either write your own songs or listen to demo tapes and purchase the rights to such songs that are a good fit for you. Being willing to take risks and try new sounds is also a great way of how to become a famous singer. Get your music out there through every method you can. This may include singing locally for free at various public events. You can also get paid to play in local bars and clubs. Social media is huge online right now so use it to your advantage. Make a video of yourself singing and place it on MySpace and YouTube. You will be amazed at just how much exposure this is going to gain you. There are many reality TV shows out there too including American Idol and Who Wants to be a Star. By signing up for an audition for them you just might get to be recognized. It can be hard to win such a show but at the end of each season someone has to. Not all of the winners become famous singers though. Look how well Chris Daughtry has done and he was kicked off American Idol. He just completed a world tour with Bon Jovi and is working on a second album. Being true to yourself is a big part of this business. There are many record companies out there looking for the next big music start. You may want to become that image so badly you will compromise yourself to do so. However, that isn't going to make you happy and as a result you could become a one hit wonder. Make sure you negotiate such recording deals on your own standards so that you can be proud of your accomplishments. Don't take no for an answer either when it comes to getting a demo recorded or an agent. Part of how to become a famous singer is being motivated to achieve it. You will have many doors shut in your face before the one big opportunity opens up. Those that are famous singers didn't just step into the spotlight one day.
