The male sperm is small and weak, but its speed is increased, when it moves towards the egg waiting to be fertilized, while the female sperm is heavier and it moves slower; on the other hand, it is capable of surviving a longer time. Ovulation time is another thing to take into consideration: if the fertilization takes place close to ovulation time, male sperm is more likely to reach the egg first. When you want to conceive a girl, choose the fertilization time a little in advance of the ovulation time, as male sperm will die before the egg will be ready, leaving room for the more resilient female sperm. It is a bit difficult to decide the moment of ovulation, and not many women can predict when they are about to ovulate. An aspect that can be evaluated is the pH in the vagina. The ideal pH for female sperm to survive longer is acidic, the same thing that is cruel to the male sperm. Because ovulation time is hard to predict, testing the pH can give you the necessary info to increase your chances of conceiving a girl. First, you need to establish the value of the pH prior to the conceiving period. Use testing strips to ease the process. Next, you need to achieve a more acidic pH in order to favor the female sperm. A solution to do this is to use a special formula when you douche before intercourse. You will find such solutions in gender clinics, but the price can be quite steep, up to $400. On the other hand, you can make your own formula at home, from baking soda, vinegar and water, but these recipes have yet to prove their efficiency. If you do not want to use douches, you can try eating certain foods that can alter the pH. Still, it is better to stay away from products that contain black cohosh, or flax seed, or protein, or evening primrose oil, or soy, as they can influence the sex hormones. When a woman has orgasm, the environment becomes alkaline, creating conditions for the male sperm to survive and make the fertilization. Other aspects are related to the positions during intercourse.
