Husky Air Compressor

Husky has a reputation around the world for providing a quality line of compressors that are built to last and within almost everyone's budget. The toughest part is deciding which Husky air compressor is for you.

With so many models you can get a bit overwhelmed trying to decide. Why not start by reviewing the types of compressors? That will get you looking in the right direction.

1. Piston Style CompressorsThese have a tank where the compressed air is stored. When the pressure in the tank makes it to the level specified the motor will automatically shut off. As you deplete the air from the tank the pressure inside begins to drop. The motor will then restart to build the pressure back up in the tank. You can adjust the pressure settings which will dictate when the tank refills. There are two different types of piston compressors.

2. Two Stage CompressorsThis style of compressor has two pistons that compresses and then delivers the air to the storage tank. While the first piston is compressing the air and pushing it through the check valve to the second piston which further compresses the air and then it gets delivered to the tank.

The two stage system is most often found on commercial compressors because of their heavy duty build with a PSI of 150. This style is great for anyone who needs a compressor that needs to run continuously or in a shop environment. These compressors can take the punishment.

3. Single Stage CompressorsThis compressor has a single piston that compresses delivering air to the tank. The single stage is generally reserved for light duty compressors and it has a maximum 150 PSI rating. This is the perfect size for home use.

4. Compact CompressorsThese are the smallest and most light weight of all the compressors on the market. They do not have a tank which means they have to run continuously to provide air. This style is often used on spray guns, glue guns, calking guns, and for inflating tires or sporting gear.

Now that you understand the four types of compressors you need to take a moment and make a few decisions. First decide what style of compressor you need, then determine what your budget is. If you haven't got adequate cash consider using your credit card.

Husky has a reputation for a quality product but if you can't find the right model with Husky have a look at some of the other brands such as Makita, Stanley Bostitch, DeWalt, Craftsmen, Grizzly, and Ingersoll Rand to name just a few manufacturers.

Don't forget to shop online because there you can save substantially over what your local dealer will charge. With so many dealers online things are a lot more competitive and that means you get to save big.

So which Husky air compressor are you going to choose? It's tough choosing just one but it's a great place to start. Who knows maybe tomorrow you can add your second one?
