Hyundai Concept Unveiled At Chicago Auto Show



There are different kinds of car aficionados. There are those who love going to auto shows. There are those who follow the trend in the industry. There are those who love vehicles that boast of speed. Some would even take their time reviewing vehicles just for pleasure. And there are also those who go for concept vehicles.

Now for the last type of car fan, the hunger for new concept vehicles would be fulfilled for the 100th Chicago Auto Show is already on. One of the concept vehicles that has been set on display at the mentioned auto event is the Hyundai i-Blue Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle which is more known as the i-Blue FCEV.

The Hyundai i-Blue FCEV is a design by Hyundai's creative team. It has been made in their Design and Technical Center which can be found in Japan. According to The Auto Channel, the concept vehicle from the Asian car maker shows off the kind of design that future FCEV models would soon have. After all, the vehicle comes with its own platform and holds the company's fuel cell technology of the third generation. The latter is still continuously being develop in the Hyundai Korean plant Eco-Technology Research Institute.

Experts found the Hyundai i-Blue FCEV to be really one of the current concept vehicles which could be the mirror of what future FCEVs would look like. An example of this would be the vehicle's platform which is a new 2+2 crossover style and experts believe that this would be significant in making FCEVs more commercialized.

For its power source, the Hyundai i-Blue FCEV has been created to come with an electric engine and a fuel cell stack. The engine has the capacity to create 100 kW and it can work with the 115 liters of hydrogen stored in the vehicle's tank. Each refuel of the tank would allow the Hyundai i-Blue FCEV to run for over 370 miles and it can go to even greater than 100 miles each hour. It can even be fitted with a Lakewood 50/50 street and strip series shock absorber for a better go on the road.

The i-Blue FCEV has also been designed not only to be able to zoom through the roads but it has also been made with accessibility in mind. It has a new type of steering wheel which holds control pads so as to have the driver have his hands still on the wheel while he is able to control other systems in the vehicle.
