Iced Coffee Recipe - Different Takes on an Old Favorite

Many people have discovered the joys of iced coffee, yet few people have their own iced coffee recipes. After all, you just put ice in coffee and add sugar and cream if you want, right? Not anymore. These days, with coffee having become an adventure in itself, various iced coffee recipes abound. The good thing is that there really are a lot of delicious recipes out there for this cold delight, and they are definitely worth trying.

- No frills iced coffee: As the name implies, this is simply coffee with ice in it. Brew your favorite coffee, pour it in a cup, add sugar and milk or cream if desired, let it cool, and then put ice in it. If you don't let it cool first, the ice will simply melt quickly in the coffee and dilute it too much.

- No frills iced espresso: Same thing with the regular coffee, but use espresso instead. This packs more of a kick, but many people prefer that.

- Iced Cappuccino: With this iced coffee recipe we get a little fancier. If you don't have a cappuccino machine you can buy instant cappuccino, which is an acceptable substitute for brewing your own. Make the cappuccino, let cool, add ice.

- Iced Mocha: If you have ever tasted a hot mocha coffee or hot mocha espresso, then you know how delicious they can be. The thing with this iced coffee recipe, though, is that it tastes better if the ice is actually blended into the coffee. Follow a recipe for a regular mocha and then let it cool. Pour into a blender and add ice, then blend. It's rather like a milkshake with a coffee twist.

- Create-your-own ice coffee: With this iced coffee recipe you can go a little crazy. Decide what kind of flavors you like that would go well with coffee and add them to your concoction. It helps to buy those coffee syrups that you see in the coffee aisle of every grocery store. Add the flavorings of your choice to your coffee and blend it with ice in the blender. Experiment a little; and when you find a delicious combination, write down the recipe name it after yourself!

Iced coffee recipes can be fun to play with, and the results can be refreshing and delicious. They are great for summer parties, relaxing with your significant other, or while taking some time out for yourself.
