Most outdoor carpets are made of plastic and nylon. Since these carpets are built to withstand unruly weather, the carpets are made of fabrics that last.

Some outdoor carpets are made of polypropylene. Polypropylene makes the carpets more stain resistant. This gives you better moisture control. Most outdoor carpets today are protected with UV seals, protecting the fabrics from the sunrays.

Outdoor carpet has a texture you would not want to install in your home. The fabrics are rough and course making this type of carpet one of the less walked.

Grading outdoor carpets:
With so many grades to choose from today, you may find it hard to spot the carpet that fits your needs. Some of the cheap grade carpets include the grassy greens. This type of carpet is recommended for uncovered areas. Around your pool, patio, etc is a nice place to install one of these grade carpets.

If the carpet has a high grade, the fabric is costly often. High-grade carpets offer you more colors than other types of fabrics. You have higher stain resistance to moisture, dampness and humidity. Carpets, including the indoor and outdoor rugs have backings. The backings have high-grades in some instances. Some backings are made from marine materials, making this type more effective in resisting stain. These types of carpets have waterproof and UV sunray protection.

A screen porch is a good place to install the outdoor plush carpets. Plush carpets give you a softer texture. Plush outdoor carpets come in two grades. The mid-grade texture is optional when there is less traffic. The higher grade is recommended where traffic is high. The higher the grade however the longer the fabric will last. High-grade carpet offers you comfort, yet the cost of these carpets is often costlier than other types of fabrics.

The main consideration when buying outdoor carpet is the grade of moisture absorbance. Moisture causes mildew to build so moisture control is essential.
