Ingrown Hair Treatment: How To Successfully Remove It
|
Find the problem. You can do that by looking for bumps and irritations, but keep in mind that most of them are caused by the razors, or they are regular skin irritations. To locate an ingrown hair, you must touch your skin and feel a bump that has a small crust. You can also visualize the hair under the skin or see the pus if there is an infection located there. Use a warm wet cloth and press gently on the spot where the ingrown hair appears to be developing. Wait until the cloth is getting colder and put more warm water on it. Repeat more times until the hair is getting loose; you will see it rise to the surface. If more than 10 minutes have passed and there is yet no visible hair then there may not be an in grown hair that is bothering you. Check with a dermatologist if you see that your skin does not recover in time. Sterilize a needle and try to get the hair out of the skin after the warm compression has soft it out. You can use sterile tweezers for this job, but just take extra care not to harm your skin or cause extra damage to it. Pull the hair slowly out of the skin and let it grow normally in the open. Be patient and make sure not to injure yourself. After the hair is out, use water and soap and gently wash the skin area where the ingrown hair was. Try using moisturizing soap as regular soaps tend to dry the skin too much and the ingrown problem may reappear. When done, use an antiseptic to disinfect the area preventing any infections to develop. Alcohol or hydrogen peroxide can be applied on sterile cotton balls or buds to help you. That will keep the skin clean and germ free. Check for ingrown hairs regularly if you shave often, keeping a close look on the new form hair and irritated skin areas. Use these instructions each time, and you will have a nice ingrown-free skin in no time. About The Author: Visit www.articleclick.com for additional article contributions by Pearle Tsuji. |
