Installing your WFI bamboo flooring with adhesives?
|
If you have already made up your mind to do your own glue down then you need to take care in your choice of WFI bamboo flooring adhesive. This means that you need to use the adhesive that the instructions tell you to use, not some other kind that you think might be a good fit. The manufacturers know their product better than you do so go with what they say. If you are unlucky enough to choose one of the kinds of floors that come with no instructions, and yes they do exist then you need to take matters into your own hands after all. In this case you need to do a little research. During this learning process you will find that the vast majority of the companies that do give instructions for do it yourself glue downs offer the advice that all water based adhesives should be avoided when you are installing your WFI bamboo flooring. Stick with (no pun intended) a urethane glue and you will be much better off. This kind of adhesive may be more expensive but in the end it will actually save you money by treating the floors better and providing a longer lasting stick. Water based glues can cause cupping right away and in a week you could end up having to get all new floors.
