As someone who is always willing to give someone a go before making my mind up I decided that I would at least see what all the fuss was about.
The Rich Pom is an Englishman living in Sydney, Australia, who advertises working from home across all mediums including radio and television. He has appeared on current affairs programs promoting his so called business principle which helps people make money online. Although I haven't heard or seen his adverts, there are plenty of comments about his business around on the internet.
I bought the ebook - quite expensive I will add - to research further to see if there was any truth about some saying it is just another home business scam. The work from home idea that The Rich Pom promotes is Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate Marketing is the idea of getting paid a 'commission' by merchant programs by referring visitors to their websites. After doing several days research about Affiliate Marketing, I know that the concept is certainly not a home business scam. Many companies, including large corporations, use Affiliate Marketing as a way of generating business. They don't have to pay a sales team to do the work rather giving income to Affiliates when products or services are bought from their website.
The products and services are often tracked by third party websites which will record the number of sales generated through websites. It seems that hundreds if not thousands of people globally practice Affiliate Marketing either as a part time job or even full time. Therefore, I accepted that the concept that The Rich Pom promotes is not a Home Business Scam.
Next I researched The Rich Pom and his website. Although full of the typical hard sales pitch, it seemed easy to understand and navigate around. He provides reference to legitimate and recognized scam proof awards which he is registered with and also contact details for his company including telephone numbers and business registration details. This tended to show me that The Rich Pom was willing to give some form of reassurance to his work and proposal, which many home business scams will not provide.
Further research of The Rich Pom also showed him giving money away that he had earned perfectly legitimately through Affiliate Marketing. Often giving to charity and even giving money away in the street made think that perhaps he wasn't another home business scam artist.
Overall, the concept that The Rich Pom promotes is not a home business scam. There is well documented evidence about the principle which is practiced by many big corporations and small companies. It is a legal way of generating business and providing a supplementary income. However, the idea that I got from his website was that he was responsible for the concept. I know this isn't true based on the research that I had undertaken and I think it is more the way the sales pitch is interpreted.
The only reservation that I might have with The Rich Pom is the amount of money you can earn. Don't think you will immediately. You might but it will sure be a lot of hard work. To reach the sorts of figures that The Rich Pom earns you will need to be an accomplished internet marketer and know your market inside out, but perhaps one day, you may just as successful as him.
