Jacuzzi Installation

If you are at all a handy person then installing your jet bathtub doesnt have to be a project you contract out. Your Jacuzzi installation can be completed following these easy steps.

Before installing you will need to know the required support for the specific model youve chosen to install. These hydro swirl tubs require framing support and each tub has their own requirements.

Before you start your install you will need to make sure you have adequate clearance for the final connections. You should also ensure that access is easy in case of servicing. You should expect to have an access panel of approx. 18 x 18. You will need space around the pump for future servicing and inspections.

Your floor will need to support 150 pounds per square foot or 733 kilograms per square meter. This is the basic requirements to ensure the tub is properly supported.

Remember that your hydro tub will need to drain correctly and this is accomplished from a platform that self levels so it is very important that your tub is installed as level as possible. From front to back and side to side.

Now once youve got the basic installation completed you need to do some wiring. If you dont feel you are qualified for this next step then be sure to hire an electrician. Your tub will come with a wiring diagram that you will need to follow. It is critical that you install a proper ground otherwise serious electrical shock can occur.

Never make any modifications or changes to the pump that comes with your tub and always fold the Electrical codes for your area. Before you close the bath unit you will need to:

1. Remove all the construction materials that are left over.2. Check the pump has adequate cooling so that the motor doesnt overheat.3. Check all your connections and fittings.

Fill the tub 4 inches or to just above the highest jet and watch for leaks. Then turn on the jet system for 20 minutes and again watch for leaks. Make sure everything is operating properly and that there are no warranty issues.

Follow These Operating Instructions:

1. Therapeutic hydrotherapy is very relaxing when the jets are properly placed. Start with a 10 minute period and increase as needed.2. Close the drain, and fill the tub to 3 inches above the highest jet. Never operate with the jet exposed as damage can occur.3. Hydrotherapy units come with a wall unit which allows you to turn the unit on and off as well as set the time.4. Fill the tub with water that is the desired temperature then turn the unit on with the wall switch.5. You can turn it off at any time just by moving the timer knob to the off position.6. All the jets are adjustable so move them to a comfortable position. Dont block of all the jets as the back pressure could damage the pump.7. The air controls can also be adjusted to increase or decrease the pressure.8. If your tub came with an inline heat be sure to refer to the additional instructions.9. Drain the tub completely after use. Remember that there will always be a small amount of water that remains in the lines.10. If the system doesnt start when you turn the timer on check that the GFCI breaker hasnt tripped and if it has you should call an electrician to ensure you get a proper repair.

A good Jacuzzi installation means you can safely use your tub and enjoy the relaxation it has to provide for years to come.
