Regular maintenance is good for your spa, your health, and your pocket book. You will have a tub that is safe to use and a tub that you can rely on to provide that relaxing effect with the well kept jets. Lets start with looking at your daily maintenance responsibilities.1. Run your spa pump and filter for a minimum of 8 hours a day to circulate the water which will keep the spa water clean.2. Test your chemical levels daily and always test just before using. Your bromine should run 3-6 ppm or your chlorine level should run 3 to 5 ppm. pH should be between 7.2 and 7.6. Now its time to look at the weekly maintenance schedule.1. Shock the spa. This removes any organic compounds and helps keep the spa kleen. Add 1 ounce of Spa Shock for every 500 gallons of water. You can also use Brominating or Chlorinating concentrate but be sure to follow the directions.2. Add 4 capfuls of Stain and Scale control for every 300 gallons. This will prevent stains and scaling from developing on your spa.3. Apply a surface cleaner to a soft cloth and wipe along the waterline. This will reduce oil and grease film.4. Add 2 tablespoons of Enzyme cleaner for every 100 gallons. T his will reduce waterline build up and keep the filter clean and operating right. Your periodic maintenance includes: 1. Draining and refilling your spa every three months or 90 days.2. Cleaning the spa surface using one of the popular surface cleaners.
