Jacuzzi Pool Filters
|
No matter how careful you are it is impossible to not have debris enter your hot tub. Its impossible! And then there is that micro bacteria and other microorganisms you cant see. The job of your filter is to filter all of this out keeping your spa water crystal clear and very sanitary. In fact they are essential to keeping your tub safe and sanitized. There are several different filters on the market but there are three main systems that will keep your pool crystal clear. Lets have a look at each one. 1 Diatomaceous EarthHas been around from centuries. It is made from the porous powder of microscopic organisms and particles that have been trapped for centuries. These particles are one to three microns in size and thats small! To give you a comparison a strand of hair is 50 microns. So with this filter virtually nothing will slip past. Diatomaceous earth is used in many products such as kitty litter and filters. And the great thing is that it is non toxic. You can quite literally put it in your coffee and drink it and no harm will come to you. It is made from fossils that are centuries old and it takes billions of these diatoms to form a filter grid. Its a great choice and it is also a very affordable choice. 2 Sand FilterThis is probably the most expensive filter on the market and it is also the oldest filter available. The one reason for its price is that it lasts for ever. You can expect to get 10 years from a sand filter. It uses a #20 silica sand and this sand has sharp edges that helps separate the particles of dirt as the are trapped in the filter. The more debris that is trapped the more capable the sand becomes of trapping extremely fine particles. These filters can trap the minutest particles. These filters are readily available online and at your local pool and spa dealer so no worries about availability. 3 Element CartridgeThis is the cheapest system on the market and thus it requires the filters replaced the most often. It uses an element cartridge which traps dirt and fine particles as the water passes through it. It works by first trapping the larger particles and then as it becomes more plugged it can trap the finer particles. This filter tends to wear more quickly than the other styles so it will have to be replaced more often. However that said it is also the cheapest filter cost wise. When you are installing a filter you need to follow the manufacturers directions for filter replacement. Read your manual and find out how often the manufacturer recommends replacing the filter and which types of filters you are able to use with your system. You never want to void your warranty by using inappropriate filters. Filters are not an expensive maintenance item so dont skimp. Too often you hear people rinse their filters out and reuse them over and over. Why would you do that? Why would you risk your health because micro-organisms arent being trapped? And why would you settle for anything less that a perfect crystal clear spa? You spent a great deal of money when you invested in your hot tub so why would you cheap out now over a very low cost maintenance item? Your safety is important and you cannot put a price on it. If you arent willing to correctly do the maintenance than perhaps you need to reconsider if owning a spa is really for you. For most doing the filter maintenance is no big deal at all. And if you shop online you can buy Jacuzzi pool filters at several great sites at a substantially less price than what your local dealer might offer. And other great perk is many sites offer you a really great price if you buy a dozen filters so be sure to check it out. Youll use them and it wont take long so if buying a case can save you as much as half the cost why not do it? Its certainly a great way to save money. You can also look for after market filters rather than OEM filters. There is a good selection available and many are of the highest quality. Just be sure you wont be voiding your warranty. Jacuzzi pool filters are the best choice on the market so be sure to check out your options. About The Author: Alphonso has been working in the home remodeling industry for last 5 years.
