Jennifer Garner Magazine Action Star

Garner was born in Houston, Tex.  and grew up in West Virginia. After graduating from Denison College she attended the National Theater Institute before moving to New York City to pursue acting full-time. In the next few years Garner appeared as an understudy, minor television roles and a small film role. Among her small television roles was a recurring role on the popular WB hit "Felicity" in 1998.

During this time Garner met and fell in love with her "Felicity" co-star Scott Foley. The couple married in 2000. In 2001 "Felicity" creator J.J. Abrams offered Garner the role of Sidney Bristow in his action-drama series "Alias." The show and Garner were instant hits and Garner earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. During the show's run, Garner received many Golden Globe, Emmy and Screen Actors Guild nominations for her lead performance.

By 2003 Garner was a full-fledged television star and landed the role of Elektra in the action movie Daredevil co-starring Ben Affleck. At this time Garner and Foley separated and Garner filed for divorce. Celebrity magazines like People, Us Weekly, OK! Magazine and Star report Garner is dating her "Alias" co-star Michael Vartan but the couple does not acknowledge the rumors until months later.

In 2004 Garner stars in the successful romantic comedy "13 Going on 30," ends her relationship with Vartan and begins dating Ben Affleck. The couple remained low-key about their relationship until celebrity magazine photographers snap a photo of the two at a Boston Red Sox game. The couple secretly married in 2005 and welcomed daughter Violet six months later.

Garner's hit television show "Alias" ended in 2006 and the actress starred in a string of movies including the Oscar-nominated "Juno" in 2007. Garner received rave reviews for her performance in the indie hit "Juno," including praise from Entertainment Weekly magazine, "The star of Alias and The Kingdom does no butt-kicking in this sweet comedy. Instead, as a young wife desperately hoping to adopt, she's funny, a bit tough, and unbelievably touching."

Currently Garner has completed work on the upcoming television movie "Cyrano de Bergerac" and the movie "The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" with Matthew McConaughey and Michael Douglas. She is also set to star in the movies "This Side of the Truth" and "Be with You." In addition to her upcoming movies, Garner and Affleck welcomed their second daughter in January.

Garner has appeared on the cover of many magazines in her career including Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire, Vogue, TV Guide, Us Weekly and Entertainment Weekly.
