Karaoke Contest: Winning Your Place On The Stage

One of the greatest ways to have fun and get your friends' and others' recognition for your singing skills is to join a karaoke contest. These competitions are a great opportunity to spend some time and watch some talented people, make friends and even win prizes. The secret of wining a karaoke contest lies right here, and you will learn it with these instructions.


Sing a lot, anytime, anywhere, training your voice while singing. Voice any song that you like, but try to practice new ones as well. Imagine yourself on a stage and try to follow the music with your body and gestures. Remember that judges look for a scenic presence as well as a good voice.


In most karaoke contests you can choose your own songs to sing. Be sure to practice them and know well all the words from the songs. Pay a special attention to the timing of the words and the tempo of the songs; that way you will impress the judges with both your vocal performance and sense of timing.

Wear proper costumes and use appropriate movements according to the song that you sing or to the contest genre. Move and act, use your hands and body, try to mimic music videos or dancing artists for each song that you play.


Try to keep the song as close to the original version as possible, but add a little twist if you feel that the audience will like it. Use the original artist movements and gestures, voice accents and scenic presence adding only from time to time your own touch. Nobody says that you do not have to be creative!


Relax before you sing and try to stay relaxed and in tune with the music while you playing it.
