Keeping Your Eyesight Intact For Years To Come

The eye is an organ that detects light being the basis of the sense of sight.

It consists of a system sensitive to changes in light, able to transform them into electrical impulses. The simplest eyes do nothing but detect whether the surroundings are bright or dark. The complex serves to provide the sense of sight.

The parts of the eye are essential to human existence because through them we grasp, perceive and find what is called the images collected by this system.

Compound eyes are found in arthropods (insects and similar animals) and consist of many simple facets which give an image pixel, ie mosaic (not multiple images, as often believed).

For light rays can be focused, must refract. A distant object will require less refractive nearest one. Most of the refraction occurs at the cornea, which has a fixed curvature. With aging, the human being loses this ability to adjust focus, deficiency known as presbyopia or farsightedness.

Visual tiredness may occur due to vision problems that may stem from the use of improper corrective eyewear as well as various problems of the eye.

It also produces eyestrain from reasons related to jobs such as lacks in lighting, improper contrast, poor placement of the job, etc.)..

* Quanity of light. The glare or manifestation can affect or greatly increment eyestrain. * Direct Contrast. Mostly, the lack of contrast makes visual function very negative.
* Distribution of color.

Occupational elements that cause visual fatigue

* Work continued with poorly regulated computer screens
* Lighting of an inadequate job
* Distances are very short for sight

Individual visual defects that cause visual fatigue

* Visual defects: farsightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia, impaired visual acuity.
* Age forty-five and over

Preventive measures of visual fatigue of functioning on computer screens

The work in front of computer screens can lead to many visual problems due to limitations of the display screens and / or the misuse of them. The presence of annoying reflections and flashes, coupled with the poor image definition can be translated into a rapid increase in visual fatigue, especially if the task involves frequent reading of texts on the screen.

Here are some ways that will help you preserve your eyesight for years to come:

* Lamps properly screened so as not to produce glare or cause annoying reflections in the working area. If, in addition to the lighting, using individual light sources (eg, flexor), these should not be close to the screen if glare and annoying reflections originate.
* Use a light level sufficient to perform tasks that require reading printed documents, etc.. But not too reaching values that reduce the contrast of the screen. * Make small regular breaks to prevent eyestrain and, if possible, rotate the screen with other work involving less visual impact.
* Where the jobs data entry must have a briefcase. The screen and document holder should be sufficiently near each other and the same distance to avoid the gyrations of the eyes and the constant accommodation of vision.
