Kids Face Painting: How To Do It Right

At kids parties, a great activity is kid face painting. Here are a few tips to make it more fun.

You can use simple designs or simply your imagination to paint the faces of the kids present at the party. In order to get it right, you will just need a little practice and a little technique.

Any skin allergies that the kids may have must be known, if you want to avoid accidents from happening.

You will then need materials for face painting. Use only products that are FDA approved, and do not use acrylic paint under no circumstances. This is not meant for use on the human skin. Choose paints that come out easily with water and soap.

Sponges and brushes come in handy when you need to rectify your work of art.

The paints need to flow smoothly on the skin, so remember to use water to permit that to happen. On large areas, less water is required.

Here is a technique that can save you from a lot of work. Just apply one color on the entire face and add then just sparkles or other small designs. If a kid wants to be face painted to look like Spiderman, you need a red background, on which you design the spider web motif. For a ladybug, red background goes, too, and some dark spots complete the image.

Green faces are a must have at Shrek or Hulk themed parties. For Halloween looks, whitish faces with dark circles around the eyes are easy to achieve. Glitter and lavender can be used for a princess face, and some clowns can be painted using red and blue.

If you want to learn more on face painting, there are many books that explain further the techniques. It is best to start with some simple designs and go smoothly until you get to know how to paint a face without much trouble, but with great art.

For girls, designs like hearts, flowers, butterflies, stars or dolphins are great. For boys, use spider webs, scars, fake mustaches or beards, and snake like skin.

With the help of some face painting stamps, you can also get some great results.

Facial glitter must be among the materials, so don't get cheap.

Fake tattoos are also very much appreciated. Check online sites for some great ideas.

Always have a mirror to show the children how they look, they will like that a lot.

At parties, organize games and other fun activities to keep the kids busy while you paint their faces.

You will just do fine once you covered the basics. Now it is time to invite your kids' friends to a kids face painting party!

Who knows? If you are good enough, other parents will ask for your services at the parties they will organize!
