You do not have to think that the canine liver disease cannot be cured. So, the first rule would be to not get too upset when you discover that your pet suffers from such a disease. These are some of the cause for canine liver disease - The dog gets in contact with toxic chemicals, like lead, iron, phosphorus or insecticides- Some skin and ear infections can be responsible for the appearance of the disease- Hepatitis- Some dental infections- If the dog is from a certain species that often has liver problems, like the English cocker spaniel, or the West Highland terrier- This disease can be a consequence of inbreeding- Some medicine can also be the culprit; we include steroids, antibiotics, cortisone Here are the most spread symptoms of the disease: - The yellowish color of the eyes, the gums and the skin- If the dogs vomits, especially with blood- If the dog is affected by diarrhea- Orange urine, or abnormal changes in urination- Yellowish color in stools, or other unusual colors, such or grey or orange- A general state of passiveness- Agitation is another symptom- A swollen belly can be another sign Your dog will need to eat a lot of good food so it can rejuvenate its lives, so watch what it eats. You need to keep the pet away from chocolate, or sugar, onion, peppers, tomatoes and grilled meat. Make it drink only distilled water, as tap water can cause harm. Eliminate other sources of aggravating the disease by changing the plastic bowls for food with some made of stainless steel. In case you suspect that your dog has canine liver disease, take it to the vet. They will be able to tell for sure if your friend is in need of your help and they can tell you exactly what to do in order to get your dog back on its feet.
