On most occasions this is seen as a bad thing in marketing. The longer a message is the harder it is to get a person to take the time to read through it. This is why the majority of marketing you have probably seen is short, to the point, and employees strong visuals to get people to look at them.
Booklet printing by nature is much more subdued than your average advertisement. Yes they are going to use some colors and images with them, but this is not likely to be the primary point of them. You will have a lot of heavy text explaining something, occasionally in more technical terms.
Well, if that is the case than why would companies bother with something like booklet printing?
The reason is because marketing is very huge, and that includes different situations for marketing.
The general public is not normally going to have much interest sitting down to sort through a lengthier booklet, but what if they have a very big purchase in front of them? What if they are going to hire out a person's services, and those services might last years and years? What if they just need to know who the person is and what the service entails?
These are the occasions when a booklet will come in handy. People are not always going to be able to think of all the question they want answered, which is why providing them a detailed booklet covering everything there is to know is so helpful.
There are also occasions when you will be marketing to other companies rather than to the general public. Someone at another company will be more likely to take the time to find out all the details about you because their business might depend upon it.
Having a strong booklet to hand to them right from the beginning that covers all of your services or goes over the full details of your company is a great way to get things off on the right foot. You are making the process that much easier for them, and you can be certain they get all of their question answered. Plus it shows you plan ahead, and creates a strong image for your company.
The more limited your view of marketing is the more you will let slip through your fingers. Booklets might not be good for every situation, but that does not mean there are not plenty of times when they will come in handy. You need to be ready when those situations come along. If you do not know anything about booklets than you will never benefit from them.
