Lazer Printer - Do you Need one?

It used to be that most people at home used the dot matrix printer for all of their printing needs. Today hardly anyone uses them anymore; they are mostly obsolete. We now have the inkjet printer and the lazer printer, also called the laser printer, as options for our printing needs. It also used to be true that the inkjet and the lazer were vastly different, with the lazer being far superior. Now it can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between a page that comes from a lazer printer and one that comes from an inkjet printer, depending on the quality and brands that you are comparing.

The lazer printer is generally better than the inkjet printer. The colors tend to be more vivid and the resolution better. If, however, you believe that you can get better prints from a cheap lazer than you can from a more expensive and higher quality inkjet than you are probably mistaken. How a printer is manufactured has a lot to do with how well it works, and you could end up getting a lot better use from a well-made inkjet printer than from a poorly make lazer printer. The bottom line is, if you want the very best than you need to buy a medium to high quality lazer.

Do you really need a lazer printer? If most of what you print are text documents, then there is no reason for you to spend more money for a good lazer. You would see virtually no difference in the text documents that come from an inkjet printer or a lazer. If you are always printing out graphics, especially detailed graphics and you need the colors to be as pure as possible, then the lazer is probably the way that you want to go.

When it comes to buying a quality lazer printer, you probably want to stay away from the "all in one" printers. These are machines that not only print, but make copies and send faxes as well. If you want the best printer than you want one that is only a printer, so you know that in manufacturing everything was focused on making the best printer possible. Go to a store where the people who work there know about computers and printers and ask for their advice. Most of the time they will be honest with you, even if it means suggesting that you buy a printer that is not the most expensive on in the store.
