Learn How To Make A Web Page
|
You need to pick a topic or a niche as it is called. If all you want is a blog, then the topic is something you probably already know. If you are trying to earn money online, that is a different ballgame. There are no quick ways to make money online. It takes time, effort, knowledge and a lot of luck. By the way, did I say effort? People think they can make a website and it will be off and running. This is not a case of "If You Build It, They Will Come" like in the movie Field Of Dreams. Once you learn how to build a web site, you will then have to promote it. You will have to drive traffic to your site and there are various ways you can achieve this. First, you must pick your topic or niche. Once you have decided on what your website is to be about, your next step is to purchase a domain name. A domain name is an internet web site address. It is a unique word or string of words that when typed into your browser will bring up the site you want to see. A domain name identifies your site on the internet. This will probably be your first purchase in building a website. Domain names must be registered in order to be used and in doing so will cost usually under $10 dollars. My domain names cost under $7 and this will be a yearly fee if you keep the domain name. I have used both GoDaddy and HostGator. Another popular site is Namecheap. You can usually find a coupon to use if you google the name of the site and add the word coupons to it before you do a search. Next, you will need a web host provider. A web host provides you with space on the internet. There is a monthly fee incurred with hosting and it is usually $10 a month. Remember, you are purchasing space on the world wide web (www) in order for your page to be accessible to all. If you are lucky, you can find hosting for free. I have free hosting for my sites because I found a site that not only gives me the free hosting but is teaching me everything I need to know to make a website. Before finding this site, I knew next to nothing about building websites or what I needed to do after I built my own website. If you are inclined to pay a monthly hosting fee, GoDaddy and HostGator can provide that service. Bluehost is another good option for you to consider. Once you have these three things in order, your next step is to learn how to actually build your website. It can be very technical. You have the option of having a website built for you but it can be expensive. I have chosen to build it myself and find it a fun and interesting endeavor that is really not that hard to do when you educate yourself on the process.
