Learn More On Trout Fishing Tips

Many fishermen like to catch trout, and there are many species of trout that can be caught in the waters in United States, like Rainbow, Brown, Brook, Cutthroat, and Bull Trout. As the most experience know, there are little differences in how to catch a trout or another, you just need to have some basic knowledge about trout fishing and access to some trout fishing tips that I am about to offer you. I am focusing here more on trout that can be caught in rivers and streams.

First, get your equipment in place before going fishing. If you aim for bigger fish, make sure that you have the right size gear and bait. Mostly, trout can be caught with ultra light or light gear, so just in a few cases you will need heavier stuff. A 5 foot ultra light rod and an ultra light reel with four work just fine for trout fishing. For hooks, consider using the one of size ten, they are the most recommended of them all. Use small lures, to attract trout, and choose from spinners and spoons that are no heavier and ounce. To complete the equipment, bring with you a minnow type plug no longer than 4 inches.

Second, be aware what you wear. You may think that this aspect is not important, but actually, it is. Fish can distinct colors from the water, so if you have some bright colors on you, they will run away from you the moment they spot you. It is important to use clothing that is colored with the colors from the environment. It is the best choice.

Fish can also be very aware of strange smells. It is not important if your clothing smell of a deodorant, or you just washed your hair, it is important that your hands do not carry any smell. As you touch the lure and the bait with your hands, that smell will transfer to the objects that will get in contact with the fish. If trout smells something funny, they will not come closer, and they will stay away from your hook. In order to avoid this problem, just rub your hands with some grass and dirt and the smell will disappear. Especially if you are a smoker, you will have this problem, so keep this tip in mind.

Trout also has quite good vision. This means that you cannot lure them just with anything. The artificial bait you use must look as natural as possible, or, otherwise, the fish will not bite. A set of pre-tied gang hooks will work marvels for your fishing trip. Choose something that will appeal to the fish, and you will have no other problems.
