You can definitely lose 10 pounds in a short time if you set your mind to it. And there's no real secret to achieving it, because the formula has always been the same - reduce caloric intake, perform exercises, or undergo a combination of both. Sure, you've read about weight loss regimens since birth. But how many of those have you actually followed to the letter? Specifically, if the exercise called for 30 minutes of running each day, three times a week, how many of us have bargained for 15 minutes and quit on the second day? It's true that weight loss programs are easire said than done, but do you know how much of a milestone it is to lose 10 pounds? If you set your mind on achieving even this single objective then the accomplishment of that feat would be more than enough to motivate you to lose even more. Intensive exercise Two weeks is enough to shed those unwanted pounds, whether you spend them on a treadmill or on running on a trail a few meters away from your home. What you have to observe, though, is that the exercise has to be intensive - and this doesn't refer to merely taking a stroll around the park for an hour. Aerobic exercises are known fat burners because they burn calories even after you have stopped your routine for the day. These are the workouts that are long drawn out and don't call for sudden bursts of speed or energy such as sprinting or tennis. It's best, of course, if you can complement this with strength training for a full body workout and to keep your muscles taut as you shed off those pounds. The rule in exercising to lose pounds is the more intense the workout, the better, but see to it that you have clearance from your physician and that you engage in warm-up exercises before every session. Target more than an hour each day for perhaps three days the first week, moving up to daily for the second week. Always push yourself to higher intensities or longer durations rather than follow a consistent regimen. Detox Many celebrities swear by detox diets if your objective is to lose 10 pounds or even more. For most detox diets, you are limited to eating fruits and vegetables and are restricted to water or fruit juice. You'll have to observe this diet for an entire two weeks or whatever the detox diet requires; however, these are not meant to go on for longer periods as they are obviously nutritionally deficient. Longer-lasting weight loss diet Calorie shifting is a method of losing 10 pounds by altering your metabolism in a way that it is kept running high but burning fat at a quick pace. This way, your systems are fooled into not slowing down your metabolism - the natural reaction when a person has limited caloric intake. This practice involves constantly changing what you eat, and a good example of a calorie shifting diet is Fat Loss 4 Idiots' which promises to help you get rid of 9 lbs. in only 11 days. That's almost a pound a day, which should be great if you're planning on shaving off several pounds, right?
