Lose Weight With The 12 Day Grapefruit Diet



The 12 day grapefruit diet has become very popular over the last years, and many say that the invention belongs to the Mayo clinic, which is just a word passed from mouth to mouth and nothing true. Basically, over 12 days, you need to eat grapefruit at every meal, and this fruit is the key to losing fat. It is not enough, however, just to eat grapefruit every time you need to eat, there are also strict diet rules, that must be attended to. It is believed that this diet can play a major role in losing fat from the body.

Here is how this 12 day grapefruit diet looks like.

At breakfast, you are allowed to it two eggs, however you like them, half a grapefruit (or juice made of grapefruit) and two slices of bacon.

At lunch, you can have a salad dressed as you wish, some meat (it does not matter how much or what type), and a grapefruit (or juice).

At dinner, you can eat again whatever and how much meat you like, along with a salad made of vegetables, raw or cooked, tea or coffee, and a grapefruit (or juice).

Here is also a set of guidelines to follow over this 12 day grapefruit diet.

1. As you have seen, it is said to eat meat as much as you want. Still, the advice is to limit the consumption of any food included in the diet to a minimum.

2. You will need to stay hydrated, so you have to drink 8 glasses of water per day.

3. You need to eat until you feel that you are not hungry anymore. This is a must, or otherwise, you will feel the need to have a snack between meals and this is not allowed.

4. You need to respect the diet and the components in it in an almost religious manner. The key of this diet is to combine the right foods in order to lose fat.

5. It is important to limit the consumption of coffee, as this will make you hungry later, when the energy boost it gave you wears off.

6. There is no eating between meals. You have only breakfast, lunch and dinner.

7. Here is a good piece of advice: use butter to fry the food you are going to eat at every meal. It will make you feel less hungry between mills, as this fat is filling for your belly.

8. You cannot have certain foods, as desserts, bread, or sweet potatoes and white vegetables.

9. Eat grapefruit as you like, but according to the plan. It is the key component of the diet, so you must bear this aspect in mind.
