The better you feel about yourself, the bigger, better, and farther reaching your goals can be. And the bigger, better, and farther reaching your goals are, the greater the joy and fulfillment you can achieve. All emotions and beliefs are made up of energy, each emitted with a different vibration. The vibrations we emit, attract like vibrations to us. A low self-esteem emits a vibration that attracts situations and circumstances that match a low self-esteem person. By observing and reacting to this reality you now have proof and it only serves to strengthen the vibrations of low self-esteem that you live in. We only get what we believe we deserve. If we believe we don't deserve anything, we don't get anything. If we believe we deserve to be lonely and miserable, then we get a life of loneliness and misery. If, on the other hand we believe that we deserve to be happy, then surprise, surprise... the universe will facilitate this for us so that we find ourselves in situations that makes us happier. And if we believe we're worthy of having all our desires met, then they will be. Look at your material possessions - the things you have. Do they reflect someone who believes they deserve to have the nice, beautiful, and otherwise desirable things they want? Or do they reflect someone who doesn't believe themselves worthy of having anything nice, beautiful, or otherwise desirable? Our life circumstances, our day-to-day situations, the people who surround us - all these reflect what we think about ourselves. When we feel bad about ourselves, we attract problems, struggle, pain, conflict, and other people who generally feel bad about us and themselves. By the same token, if we feel good about ourselves, we attract pleasure, satisfaction, easy and effortlessness solutions, harmony and accord, and other people who generally feel good about us and themselves. Spiritual teachers Abraham-Hicks say, "Ask and it is given", which is different from "Ask and ye shall receive", the difference being that we are always given that which we ask for, but we only receive what we allow ourselves to take in, based on our deepest beliefs of self-worth and deservedness. To begin to examine the ways in which your feelings of self-worth influence the life you're currently living, take a look at the ways in which you complete the sentence: "I am..." Do you say "I am shy, awkward, too fat, ugly, clumsy, such an idiot, a loser, a screw-up, lonely, depressed?" Or do you say, "I am good at what I do, outgoing, playful, good-looking, beautiful inside and out, intelligent, talented, creative, kind-hearted, loving and lovable, carefree, happy-go-lucky?" What are you? Once you know how you answer that, you'll understand how you've become who you are and how your life has come to this. Start to replace any negative labels you've tacked onto yourself with their opposite, or some relevant positive label. You can't change it all at once. It's an ongoing process that gets easier and more natural every time. Whenever you catch yourself - whether aloud or in your head - tacking a negative label onto yourself, simply follow it up with its positive replacement. Eventually, if performed consistently enough, the positive replacements will become the norm. The way we see ourselves determines how we use our potential. If we have low esteem for ourselves, we waste our potential - for, why bother? If, however, we have high esteem for ourselves, we use our potential to our highest good.
