Luggage: Tricks Of Packing Light
|
Where to start? You must choose the type of luggage you will be using throughout your trip, a carry-on luggage is an excellent choice for packing light. If you plan on bringing back souvenirs, don't fully pack your carry-on. I suggest making a list of all your necessities first, that is, clothes and toiletry. Bring clothes that will be suitable for your destination, if you are not sure, go on the internet to check the forecast. Don't immediately pack everything into your luggage, I suggest you lay out all your items and start with the items that are most needed and then work yourself down the list, if it is not that essential, don't pack it. When you are packing your clothes into your luggage, don't over pack one type clothing repetitively, such as a tank top. Pack other items that you are able to coordinate with each other. Keep in mind being comfortable is the number one thing. I suggest packing a week's worth of clothes, once your load is complete, the hotel can do your laundry or you yourself can go to a local laundry mat. From my experience, I don't see it as an inconvenience, instead a great way of experiencing the local culture. You also don't need to pack gadgets like blow dryers and such, hotels often provide it. I suggest packing books instead of a laptop. A laptop takes up a great deal of room in your luggage, while books take up a minimal amount of space and also the point of vacation is to get away from your norm. If you ever want to access a computer, there are local internet cafes to go to. Books are great for tedious airplane, bus, and train rides. You can always trade books in at local pawn shops or even with a traveler as well. Try to choose a carry-on bag that has many features since it is going to be the only luggage you will have throughout the trip. I suggest you find the largest carry-on luggage with many compartments where you are able put smaller items. I personally like having vibrant and colorful luggage because they are easy to spot and have a personality of their own. Make sure the carry-on luggage have sturdy straps, this will help you transport it easily in trains and such. You should also have an everyday bag, such as tote or a fanny pack to carry all your important documents like your passport at all times. A backpack is great too, investing in a good pack with thick straps will alleviate the weight from your back and shoulders. I highly recommend buying a Jansport bag because there is a lifetime warrantee on them, if they break, you can return it in for a new one. With numerous suitcases and heavy luggage, it will make your vacation less fun and exciting. If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, you can always fed-ex your stuff back to home country, it beats carrying everything with you at all times. It also allows you to buy unique items you can't find anywhere else, sometimes at an excellent price. Heavy baggage will drag you done and dampen your spirits, your vacation should feel free and relaxed. About The Author: Jason Petrina is the Editor and Publisher of Article Click.
