MOMS Club: Where At-Home Mothers Belong

MOMSClub all started when Mary James, 1983, found that there was noorganization anywhere that allowed at-home moms to meet up withouthaving to leave her kids at home. And so, she began her MOMS Club. Theclub made so many mothers happy that soon, other volunteer mothersopened MOMS Club all over the country and in other countries as well. You’reprobably asking, what is MOMS Club’s objectives and what does it do tofor mothers who prefer to stay home? Mainly, MOMS Club aims to givesupport to at-home mothers, provide a venue for discussing interestingtopics for them, help kids in the vicinity of the chapter and to haveat least one project a year that provides service to children in need. MOMSClub is not just a woman’s organization; it runs on several guidingprinciples for its members. For one, members believe that women shouldbe free to select their own path to fulfillment. Women who choose tostay home and raise their kids are playing vital and rewardingfull-time jobs. They also accept the fact that choosing to raisechildren at home is a family decision and entails much sacrificefinancially. Finally, the club believes that raising children is notdone in only one right way but its members share a common concern indoing it the healthful way. MOMS Club operate on a set ofofficers and Volunteer Coordinators. Volunteers are experienced andcreative in giving support to the members. They are ready with ideasand words of encouragement. What benefits do you get out ofjoining MOMS Club? Aside from being part of regular chapterget-togethers, discussions and other activities, there are educationalopportunities like classes, seminars, consultations, on-line programs,and workshops for support groups. There are also numerous familyparties and babysittings co-ops available for all members. Members alsohave the privilege to join Regional, Area or State Luncheons, trainingsessions, officer meetings and other relevant and fun activitiesarranged by the International MOMS Club. If you don’t have onenear your area, why not form one? Just contact the same email addressand volunteers would love to help you create one in your vicinity. Justregister and you will be sent a manual that will teach you how tobegin. Do not worry, a MOMS Club Coordinator will be assigned to youwho will be your Big Sister as you start this worthwhile group. MOMSClub has been a very effective support system for at-home mothers.Volunteers have made it their mission to help other mothers make theexperience of motherhood enjoyable and healthful. Mothers feelappreciated and important when they are in the group. It is more thanworthwhile to join the organization, it is almost necessary.
