Make Direct Marketing Easy on Your Wallet (and Theirs)!

It readily lends itself to marketing pitches and direct mail ideas. Anything which involves concepts like saving money and making money seems to fit perfectly. It brings to mind tag lines like "keep more money in your wallet". It is truly interesting for the recipient to open than another number 10 envelope. It might be useful as a hand out item at trade shows, conventions and job fairs. The wallet-mailer opens up several direct mail opportunities: for example, sending a set of five or ten business cards to existing customers who are very pleased with the business's service. The mailing would encourage the customer to recommend the small business and pass on the spare business cards to their contacts and friends. It could also include a coupon providing a discount for each new customer referred. Another direct mail idea might involve giveaways and contests. Bring the wallet back to a salesman in return for a reward which is a chance to buy a product at a better than normal discount. There could be a contest which involved matching a 7 to 12 digit number and each mailer could have a unique number appearing as the driver's license. A possible giveaway idea is to give a real leather wallet to the first thirty people to return a Wallet Mailer to the bank that sent it out. The first ten people who also opened an account could receive a savings bond to go in their leather wallet. Another option would be to load them up with coupons and offers from several different businesses. The Wallet Mailers could then be dropped in places where real wallets might be lost in order to entice the people who happen to find them to visit one of the sponsoring businesses. Consider a mall with outlying businesses all owned by one property management company: the Mall could drop Wallet Mailers loaded with coupons from the outlying stores in its halls while the outlying stores could drop mailers with coupons from stores in the Mall.
