Party etiquette require, even nowadays, to send your guests printed invitations, regardless of other methods, more modern, that can be used to let them know you are the host of an event and you them to come. Because of the large number of guests, to events such as weddings, invitations can become quite an expense, so making your own invitations is a good idea. Here is a simply guide to make them yourself.

The design of your card is very important so you should start with it. Make your invitations in Microsoft word, or if you want something more complex, use An Adobe program. After making the design, make a print test to see it how it looks.

The next step is to purchase cards from the local office supply store, so you have what to print on your invitations.

In order to make your invitations more interesting, insert texts and try different fonts and colors, to see how the final work comes out.

If you want to insert pictures, there are sites that offer you images and clip art for free. Download them and use the ones you like on your invitations.

Some precautions must be taken when you play with the background color. If you choose one that is too dark, your guests will not be able to read the writing, so pay attention.

A fragment of a poem or some beautiful verses can complete your invitation with a little touch.

Before starting printing the whole series of cards, make a test and see how your work looks like. Make the necessary corrections and when you are ready, put the names of your guests on each card and start printing them.

In order to obtain a card that looks like the one on your computer screen, you need a color printer. If you do not have one, then save the files with all the cards on a disk and find a print shop where you can print your invitations. You will need to pay some money for this service, but it will cost you less than buying invitations. If you are looking for something fancy, like engraved invitations, find a print shop that offers such services.

If you cannot think of something out of the ordinary when designing your card, search for inspiration in the cards sold on the market. Try to keep the design as simple as possible, otherwise the card will look crowded and not at all appealing. The most important thing is that by making your own invitations you will save money on other things you need for the party.
