Make Your Own Natural Acne Body Wash
|
You can purchase all natural and scentless body wash bases at many natural health stores. One of the best, most affordable dealers of such cosmetic bases as well as essential oils is Liberty Natural, which can be found at http://libertynatural.com. Liberty Natural offers several different natural, scentless cosmetic bases, from lotion and body wash, to shampoo and conditioner. While you're there, you can also browse through their selection of over 350 different essential oils. I've spent a lot of time researching different natural ingredients suppliers and their products, and I have to say that Liberty Natural is one of the best companies out there. Their prices are phenomenally reasonable, with discounts for every increase in size of a given item. Their selection can't be beat, and their customer service representatives have been nothing but accommodating and informative. Of course, in a pinch, you can also add the following ingredients to your existing shampoo or body wash, for similar results. Yet I highly recommend using a natural body wash base, as there as so many questionable petroleum-based ingredients in commercial body wash preparations. There are several different essential oils and other botanicals that can be added to your acne body wash recipe. In fact, it will be solely up to you as to which ingredients to include. It is fun to experiment with different amounts and ingredients to see which is most effective. For starters, lavender essential oil is such a powerful ally to skin health, it makes a wonderfully simple acne body wash when added to a body wash base. In fact, simply adding anywhere from ten to thirty drops of lavender essential oil per each ounce of body wash may be all that you need for an effective acne body wash. Have you ever used betadine or other iodine soaps, such as Phisoderm in order to clear up difficult rashes and the like? Well, you can make your own iodine soap simply by adding iodine to your acne body wash recipe. Start with only a few drops per each ounce of body wash. If you'd like to go a step more natural than iodine, try adding tincture of benzoin to accomplish the same type of cleansing as iodine. This can be found at most essential oils dealers. Other essential oils that may be beneficial to add to your homemade acne body wash are patchouli, geranium, cedarwood and eucalyptus. One of the most satisfying and delicious-smelling body washes I've ever made included eucalyptus, cedarwood and grapefruit essential oils. Wow! You can feel the fresh eucalyptus tingling as it stimulates each skin cell it touches. Eucalyptus is also a very applicable essential oil for all types of skin problems. It helps condition and strengthen the skin. Start experimenting with your own homemade acne body wash recipe. You're sure to discover just what I have: that natural body washes and acne treatments really do work much better than commercial prepared, chemically-laden ones. Health and wellbeing can be as natural as you make them. About The Author: Adrian Holz is skin specialist and been writing about acne problems for last 15 years.
