Making Paper Flowers - Step By Step Instructions
|
Let's start with the materials. First, you need a pack of multi colored tissue paper, some green pipe cleaners, which are made from wire and a pair of scissors. If you do not have any pipe cleaners, try use wire. You can make it look more aesthetic, by covering the wire with green floral tape. Once you have the materials, you can go on and start working on your designs. Choose your favorite colors and use four or five sheets of paper to make your flowers. First, make eight inch sheets of paper, by cutting the tissues with the scissors. When you make paper flower, you must be careful to keep the sheets layered. The paper should be folded in the shape of an accordion so it looks like a thin rectangle. When you have this form, use the scissors to cut a V shape on both sides. Afterwards, take the end of the pipe cleaner and twist it around the V shape. Keep the stem pointing down and pass a layer of tissue to the center and then the others, one by one. Make the same thing for the other side of the flower. In order to give the flowers a more natural look, the layers must be fluffed, after they have been pulled up. You must do the same thing with all the squares of paper for more beautiful paper flowers. If you want your flower to look more realistic, use two pipe cleaners to strengthen the stem of the flower. You can make flowers of different sizes, by simply cutting bigger sheets of paper. Also, if you use more layers of paper, you can make your flowers look more rich in petals. Use your creativity to combine all kinds of flowers. Put together the colors that you feel that will look good and experiment to see what is coming out. As an advice, for a more uniform looking finish, go for colors that blend easily with each other. After your work is complete, use some spray starch to spray them. They will look firmer and this final touch will give them a professional look. The flowers sprayed with spray starch will last longer and they will not damage when touched.
