Measuring for Custom Baton Twirling Costumes
|
Over the years we have seen very imaginable error. “Broken-off" tape, twisted tape, used wrong end of tape, mixing up the bust and hips, took the measurements three months ago, added for growth, relying on memory rather than the measurement table name a few. The girth measurement is the most important, followed by the chest and hip measurements. Remember to press the tape into the lower back when measuring the girth. Choose the size that represents your largest measurements. Our costumes are made to be a sleek competitive fit. 1. Chest Measure with arms held out at shoulder height, over bust/chest and across back. 2. Waist Measure around the natural waistline. 3. Hip Measure around the widest part of the hip, parallel to the floor. 4. Girth Keeping the tape against the small of the back, from the center of the shoulder, down the front, through the crotch, and up the back to the starting point. 5. Arm Length Measure from edge of shoulder to bottom of wrist bone, done on a straight arm. 6. Upper Arm Measure on a straight arm around the bicep. 7. Forearm Measure around forearm midway from the elbow to the wrist. 8. Wrist Measure around the wrist bone Now please provide any special general body shape descriptions you want to add. Include the cup size When you open that baton twirling, majorette or dance costume and try it on for the first time proceed with caution. Be gentle with the costume zipper; pull the bottoms on completely before trying to put the arms in. If the baton twirling or majorette costume has shoulder straps pull the straps snug and pin. They may then be sewn down by hand or professionally. Cut the excess straps ends off with caution. Leaving the strap ends long provide for lengthening them later as the twirler grows. If the twirling costume has sleeves then carefully pull each sleeve on from the wrist towards the shoulder. Long sleeve baton twirling costumes may require the sleeves be incrementally pulled up a little bit at a time until the wrist of the baton twirling costume is at the twirlers wrist. Make certain then that the shoulders are completely on and then gently raise the zipper. If the fit is a bit tight then some gentle shifting of the front and back may be required. And now hopefully...the costume fit is satisfactory...maybe even perfect! Now enjoy that custom, made to measure, baton twirling, majorette, featured twirler, dance, or pom costume.
