Mental Abuse - How Does It Affect You And How Can You Heal?

Words can be powerful tools when used against us or we use them against other people. It may sound unbelievable, but they can cause a lot of harm before you know it. When someone blows in your face that you are ugly, or stupid or they attribute you a non quality, you feel a shock. You maybe do not believe it, but if something so unacceptable is being said to you repeated times, you will start to get things inside you and somehow, believe them. Self esteem suffers a great deal from such a bad treatment. But if words are what brought you down, you can still use them to build up your confidence.

The feeling of guilt is something that many people suffer internally from. This is so painful because when you are held responsible for everything by your partner, you cannot even protect yourself. Their main argument is that if you did not say or do a thing or the other, the bad thing would never happened.

When you stop trusting in yourself and your own feelings and judgment, then you must know that the mental abuse against you has gone really too far. When you feel hurt or that what happens to you is unjust, you are in such a bad dilemma, because you cannot see how you can feel so wrong when the other one is throwing stones at you.

The pain caused by your partner can only be undone by them. You must make them acknowledge your feelings or, otherwise, you will subject to a continuous mental abuse.

We all need to trust in our feelings. If your partner once treats you great and then treats you bad for no reason, it is a case of mental abuse. The worst thing is that you believe you are in a love based relationship when it is all about who has the control. Your partner treats you this way because of the way they feel about themselves and they make use of the relationship to prove they have power over somebody else.

When you are subject to mental abuse, you feel like you are on the verge of breaking something. Your relationship is a nightmare, you feel the need to please the other, but at the same time, you hate what it is being said to you.

Emotional damage is not to be neglected when it is about mental abuse in a relationship. The thing you need to know, however, is that you can heal and you do not have to struggle forever with the feelings of anxiety and worthlessness. You can gain back your self confidence.

Things do not change over night, unfortunately. After experiencing an abusive relationship, recovery is slow. Not a few times, women are tempted to get involved in another similar relationship.

Fear of the future and low self esteem are the main causes that hinder the woman to move on. There are weapons you can use against them. As words were used to get you down, now it is time to know that they can also offer you solace and self confidence. You must get over what happened to you and trust in your future. You must feel strong and believe in you in order to build up the life you want for yourself.
