Mother Proof Names Top Family Cars For 2008

Fortunately, Mother Proof lends a helping hand by naming the top family vehicles for this year. Mother Proof is a provider of online auto information for women. The group named the best family vehicles during the Women's Day at the Chicago Auto Show. Kristin Varela, founder of Mother Proof, said: "There are countless family-friendly vehicle options on the market today, offering families a combination of style and features." The Mother Proof Awards were first given in 2006 and has been ranking vehicles on how much they can be of help to women and families in general looking for a vehicle. There are several categories which are: "Top Minivan, Top Three-Row SUV or Crossover, Top Two-Row SUV or Crossover, Top Wagon or Hatch, Top Sedan, Top Car Just for Fun, Top Overall Value, Top Hybrid and Top Latch Connectors," according to The Auto Channel. Varela pointed out that Mother Proof does not limit their focus on the van which has been associated with family cars for years. "Often when people think 'family car,' they think only of the minivan," she said. "While that's a great selection for many people, moms no longer need to limit themselves to the van. The Mother Proof awards showcase a wide range of vehicle types and body styles, all well-appointed for families." The best minivan for this year according to Mother proof is the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. The 2008 Hyundai Veracruz was adjudged as the best crossover with three rows. For crossover SUVs with two rows, the 2008 Mazda CX-7 topped the list. The best wagon is the 2008 Volvo XC70. The best family vehicle with a hybrid powertrain according to Mother Proof is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid which comes with systems more complicated than a Volkswagen parking brake.
