Name Brand Games

There is one thing that has taken place throughout online arcades. There is a good appearance of name brand characters in little arcade adventures. Some would inaccurately view it as a regular boys' only affair. It would certainly seem like that after a cursory glance. Most arcades are populated by everyone's favorite Italian Plumber and one particular hedgehog. It is pretty easy to understand that these classics of the arcade genre are the most popular in the new online arcade frontier. They aren't the only ones though. Many characters popular with girls can be found in the halls of online arcades.

Barbie and Bratz dolls are no strangers to the video game world. Their likenesses have worked their way into many dress up games for girls, letting them play to their hearts content without the physical limitations that come from playing with the real dolls. They aren't completely limited to such simple games though. There are many other options that let girls play out entire stories as their favorite character from the bunch. They can happily play an interactive game as one of the Bratz girls or party with Barbie.

I guess I shouldn't limit girls to little games about make up and fashion though. There are other games that feature female heroines in a bit more active of roles. The Kim Possible series has started to make its appearance in the form of adventure games. You can play a little game along the lines of the first Super Mario Bros (with better graphics of course).

In truth these are not adventures in delicate programming so most major series have been immortalized in some form of arcade game. These have even stretched to other forms to suit the girl's developing taste. Quick puzzle games serve as a bit of a mental exercise while the adventure games let them have an action-packed time with a character that they like. It can't get too much more interactive than that.

The beauty of an online arcade is that it bunches together some of the best of the genre in a convenient gallery. Good arcades will dedicate entire categories to popular characters from television shows and movies. It may sometimes be little more than simple decoration and repacking of an old game, but girls should find it nice to see their favorites in a fun game.
