Network Marketing Tip: Be The Third Little Pig!



Let's think here… What is the desired outcome of every Network Marketing Tip? Well, we both know that it is to put more money in our pockets and generate more leads - Yes?

But, how do you do that?

By now you have become a member of a Direct Sales company and you attended your first corporate occasion, got all pumped up, and you went home and started making your warm market list of friends and family. You're going to all of your company's old school marketing training and you're dropping business cards everywhere with everyone, you talk to to people in line at the local bagel shop and even try to get your kids piano teacher to get involved with this incredible business opportunity you've found.

And for some unknown reason, you've worked through all of your family and friends and all you see at the bottom of your pockets is blue fuzz and no green dollars!

Well, have you really thought about exactly what you are selling? Really?

And you wonder, "Bruce, we have 30 different products – those are what I am selling."

But just step back and think for a minute. Yes you do have thirty products but is that really what you are selling? Consider what your prospect is investing in. Think about when you got started in your business – what was the number one factor in your decision?

This is easily explained with the story of the Three Little Pigs:

As the story goes the First Little Pig constructed his house of straw. He had just joined his own little MLM and he was sharing their products with everyone from his home. He worked really hard, but at the end of the day when the Big Bad Wolf came knocking…

"Knock, knock" and "POOF"!

It only took a fierce blow from the Big Bad Wolf to level his house.

Then, on the same day, his MLM called him and they went out of business with no warning! He quickly realized that pushing their products first was just like him living in his straw house and as quickly as they were out of business, he was out of business too – right away. He realized quickly that he had no control over his future and ran to his second brother's home.

The Second Little Pig throws open the door and quickly welcomes his first brother into his home made of sticks. Now inside and feeling secure, the Second Little Pig decides to share his new MLM opportunity with his first brother. He tells him how great it is and all about the vacations he is going to go on and about all of the endless buffets that will be at their conferences and ooh la la.

He goes to his office and brings back his his stand and white board and shows him exactly how he’s going become financially free by sponsoring all the other piglets he works with. The second brother is working so hard to convince his first brother on the "Dream", but he's not buying it. Knowing that it's all fast talk and after living in a home of straw, he's pretty weary of all the fluff of this "Dream" his brother is selling him. (Reminds him of the builder who sold him his house of straw!) The Second Little Pig realizes it might be simpler to sell sand to an armadillo than to sell little pigs on the "Dream" and quits his MLM.

Then... "Knock, knock"

"POOOOF", It's the Big Bad Wolf again and down goes the house of sticks. And the first two brothers run to Third Little Pig’s house !

Quickly they get to their brother's house made of bricks, they detect how well it is constructed. The effort and time that went

into it's construction and foundation. Their third brother meets them as he's just about to jump on his computer to attend a training webinar training for the night with some other team members. The first two brothers just sit in amazement at what they are hearing - No Sales Pitch At All! Well nothing about their third brother’s MLM company. He’s just helping people with advice and answering their questions.

Then... "Knock, knock"

"POOOOOOF", "POOOOF", "Pooof", "Puh..." Hah!! The Big Bad Wolf has met his match and leaves in frustration, because the excellently constructed house of bricks are too much for even him! The Third Little Pig has beaten the wolf at his own game and never even left the comfort of his chair!

All the while, undisturbed inside...

The Third Little Pig's webinar ends and the three brothers are having a snack when out of the blue, the phone rings... "Hi, Third Little Pig, would you please tell me about that attraction marketing you were discussing earlier and by the way... what is you business anyway? You were so helpful tonight, but never mentioned it and I’d like to learn more about what you do and how you do it." The first two brothers are awe-struck! Then as soon as the Third Little Pig gets off the phone, the others say "That's incredible, no one call us first! We cold call non-stop and only talk to people who don’t want to talk to us – it's awful and cold calling stinks!"

Then the Third Little Pig lets them in on his secret. He says "Here is the top Network Marketing Tip for you that will forever change your success and put you in a position of personal power and free you from the constraints of any MLM business you may join".

The first two brothers quickly interrupt "But you aren't selling your prospects anything, can we do that too?"

Third Little Pig says "That's right! I am selling MYSELF first, not my MLM, not any crazy dreams and not my products. It's actually simple, pigs all like to do business with pigs they relate to. They like pigs who offer value first and help them to be successful instead of trying to sell them something like a used car salesman. And this is the best part yet! You too can do this just like me and allow success beyond your wildest imagination, if you just provide value to other pigs first, build relationships and help other pigs create their success – Your success will follow."

A couple of parting thoughts for you: If you are still struggling in your network marketing company, it is probably because of one of the two following reasons:

1. You flat out don’t have enough quality leads to talk to. (This is solved by first mastering your marketing skills and having a system in place to attract quality leads.)

2. You don't call your leads back. (Most likely because it feels like cold calling and that just stinks – it will wear out even the toughest marketer in time. Lead with the value you provide first and people will naturally be attracted to you.)

Network Marketing Tip: By promoting yourself first, leading with value and just being yourself, people will naturally want to work with you and you will want to call them back. If your marketing system produces cold calling fever when you think about it, I'd say its the right time for you to find yourself a new marketing system that works!
