Nordictrack Treadmill

Interestingly, Icon Health and Fitness control some of the best treadmill brands as well as some of the very worst. For example, the Image line of treadmills is one of the poorest choices you could make as far as treadmills go. They're just not worth the money. While the Image treadmills are in a very affordable price range, this is quickly ascertained to be connected to their horrible maintenance and repair track records. Image treadmills are notorious for breaking down shortly after the warranty runs out, which on many of their models is only 90 days. Which brings me to an important point: please consider the warranty length and degree of coverage before buying a treadmill. The warranty information tells you a lot about what the manufacturers expect the machine to do. When a treadmill warranty lasts for only a few months, that's a sign that the manufacturer doesn't expect the unit to last very long. With most quality treadmills, the warranty will last for six months, a year or even longer. Keep this in mind when choosing a treadmill. It's not just about the coverage you can expect should something go wrong, but what else the warranty is an indication of. So, while Icon Health and Fitness make some terrible treadmills, they also make some excellent fitness equipment. It has been said that Icon Health and Fitness are the General Motors of the treadmill industry, and The Nordictrack treadmill line is Icon's Cadillac. And in keeping with that metaphor, Nordictrack does deliver top of the line treadmills overflowing with cool features and extras. But keep in mind that any treadmill with all kinds of bells and whistles is more likely to have problems that will require repair. Also, in one instance, NordicTrack's fixation with bells and tech whistles was opted for over a decently powerful engine. The Nordictrack c2200 is powered by only a 1.75 horsepower motor. For a treadmill that costs more than $1000 it's really sub-standard to have such a low powered motor. The next best Nordictrack treadmill is the e3200, which has a 2.0 horsepower motor and costs a few hundred dollars more. Both of these treadmills have a mid-sized deck and several different pre-set workout programs to choose from. Most of the new Nordictrack treadmills are also equipped with the iFit system for even greater customization capabilities when it comes to programming your own workouts.
