Bextra was a classified as a COX-2 inhibitor, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The drug was completely withdrawn from the market in 2005 following a recommendation by the FDA. Research showed that Bextra use increased the risk of stroke, heart attack, and serious skin reactions.

Fen-Phen
Fen-Phen was a popular weight loss drug used by millions of Americans. The drug was withdrawn from the market in 1997 following research from the Mayo Clinic that found increased risk of a heart valve condition in those who took Fen-Phen.

Rezulin®
Rezulin was prescribed in order to treat patients with Type 2 diabetes. The FDA eventually requested that Rezulin be removed from the market due to serious health risks posed to patients, citing liver toxicity concerns as one of the primary dangers.

Vioxx®
Like Bextra, Vioxx was another COX-2 inhibitor that was removed from the market due to serious health risks posed to patients. Research found that use of Vioxx could result in major heart problems, including an increased risk of stroke and heart attack.
