Obi Won

Obi Won is one of the most respected Jedi's in the Star Ward legacy. He is one of the trainers of Anakin Skywalker who later betrays the Jedi and becomes Darth Vader. He is a very intelligent and strong individual. He has a passion for the Jedi as well as for seeing the value in other people. He is one to see the changes in young Anakin from the start, and to question it.

Even so, it is very difficult for Obi Won to have to fight Anakin. He is broken between his desire to protect the Jedi and to remain true to his friend. The life of Obi Won comes full circle though as he is the one that gets to train Luke Skywalker. He is hoping that by doing so he can right the wrongs of Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker who betrayed the Jedi's due to being drawn into the promises from the dark side.

In one of the Star Wars movies, the ghost of Obi Won tells Luke that he blames himself for the path Anakin took. He also tells Luke that to save the galaxy he must kill Darth Vader. It is in this same appearance that Obi Won also informs Luck that Princess Leia is his sister and that Darth Vader is in fact his father. It is believed that these revelations by Obi Won help his character to come to some peace with what took place during his own life.

The story line for Obi Won takes many forms in the Star Wars movies. He is one of the characters that are found in some form in all six of the movies that follow the story of Star Wars. He is highly regarded as well. He moves through the levels of Jedi life as an apprentice, then a knight. He then gets the highest honor as the Master of the Jedi High Council.

Obi Won is one of the most beloved characters throughout the Star Wars films. He is a true hero with skills and ethics that are very becoming. He is wise beyond his years and he takes on responsibilities within the Jedi that most wouldn't want. He feels a strong desire to protect others but at time his own pride and strong will gets in the way of being able to help others like he would like to.

The fact that Obi Won does have internal conflicts that haunt him give him a very human side. All of us have had to face our own similar demons. The character of Obi Won is well written in all the films though and even the harshest of critics have difficulty not liking what this character is able to offer.
