Therefore it isn't recommended to use on a regular basis and doctors have to be very careful who they prescribe it to. Anyone that is at risk of substance abuse shouldn't be given such a narcotic. The patient has to be slowly weaned off of it or they will suffer from some very severe withdrawal symptoms. Never try to stop taking this pain killer on your own. This type of medication often comes with some mild side effects. They include constipation, dizziness, vomiting, loss of appetite, dry mouth, sweating, and itching. It is a good idea to take Oxycotin with food to help minimize the nausea and vomiting associated with taking it on an empty stomach. Many people find that increasing the amount of water they drink also helps with the dry mouth and constipation.
Some individuals suffer from severe side effects when they use Oxycotin. Therefore it should only be used under the guidance of medical professionals. The dose should never be exceeded and you should never take such a prescription that is for someone else. It is important not to mix this type of drug with alcohol though because it can result in the heart beating irregularly. If you have had any type of allergic reaction to narcotic medications you need to let your doctor know before you start taking Oxycotin.
